Which product should I start with?

If you clean the house, start with the Cleaning Cloth: 40 × 40 cm, works with just water and handles worktops, mirrors, taps, tiles and windows. If you look after a car, the Ultra-Plush Wash Mitt and the 500GSM Drying Towel are the pair that does the job properly. For burnt-on pans and hobs, the Wire Dish Cloths are the ones you want.

Do they really clean with just water?

For everyday dust, fingerprints, glass, chrome and stainless steel, yes. The twisted-loop weave lifts dirt mechanically rather than dissolving it. For heavy grease, raw-food hygiene or anything you want sanitised, add a little washing-up liquid or your usual cleaner.

Will the mitt or drying towel scratch my paintwork?

Not if the car is rinsed first. The deep chenille pile on the mitt pulls grit down into the fibres instead of dragging it across the clear coat, and the drying towel has soft bound edges so no hard seam touches the paint. Always rinse the car before contact washing, and keep one mitt for bodywork and a separate one for wheels.

Can I use the Wire Dish Cloths on non-stick pans?

No. The wire face is a scourer, so keep it away from non-stick coatings, enamel, printed glass hobs and polished chrome. Use it on stainless steel, cast iron, oven racks, baking trays and sinks. For anything delicate, use the Cleaning Cloth instead.

What size are they and what are they made of?

Cleaning Cloth 40 × 40 cm and Drying Towel 40 × 60 cm at 500GSM, both 80% polyester and 20% polyamide microfibre. The Wash Mitt is roughly 24 × 18 cm with an elasticated cuff. The Wire Dish Cloths are around 17 × 15 cm each, double layered with a fine stainless steel wire face over an absorbent core, and come in a pack of four.

How long do they last?

Washed correctly, the microfibre products stay absorbent for around 500 washes, which for most households is a few years. The wire cloths last far longer than a sponge; replace one once the wire begins to unravel at the edge.

How do I wash them?

Accepted Answer

Rinse after every use and hang to dry. Machine wash microfibre at 30 to 40°C with other microfibre only, so it does not pick up lint from cotton towels. The Cleaning Cloth can take up to 60°C. Air dry or tumble dry on the lowest heat. The Wire Dish Cloths can go in a laundry bag at 30 to 40°C, or be boiled briefly to sanitise.

Why no fabric softener?

Softener and dryer sheets leave a waxy coating on the fibres, which blocks the loops and stops the cloth absorbing. It is the single most common reason microfibre suddenly smears instead of cleaning. Skip bleach and ironing too, as heat melts the fibres.

My cloth has started smearing. Can I fix it?

Usually, yes. Wash it hot with detergent only, no softener, twice if needed to strip the build-up. Make sure it is fully rinsed and completely dry before use. If it still smears after that, email us and we will sort it out.

Do they go smelly like sponges?

They dry quickly, which is what keeps them fresh. Wring them out and hang them up rather than leaving them balled up in the sink, and they stay odour free.

Email info@gleamira.co.uk as quickly as you can with your order number. If the parcel has not been picked yet we can change it; once it is with Royal Mail we cannot.

What is the 100-day guarantee?

Use the products properly for up to 100 days. If they are not for you, we refund you, used cloths included. No photographs of dirt required.

How do I return something?
